What goes in, what happens inside the machine, and what you are left with at the end of a run.

Raw cannabis material before extraction

START MATERIAL

Hemp goes in — top-shelf flower, trim, or the seed-filled material most growers throw away. What comes out is high quality either way.

You can extract high quality extracts from any cannabis material, ranging from top-shelf buds to trim, seed-filled flower and other low-grade material.

The input material will determine the amount of yield, while the quality will stay remarkably uniform between high and low quality input material.

With Gandalf, low quality material that is often discarded becomes a source for high quality extract.

PROCESS

Cold vacuum distillation, never above 50°C — fully automated from start to finish. You set the contact time and Gandalf runs the rest.

Cold vacuum distillation. Full-spectrum by design.

Gandalf uses isopropyl alcohol (IPA) as the extraction solvent — food-safe, precise, and recoverable. The entire distillation process runs under vacuum, which lowers the boiling point of IPA to below 50°C. The extract is never exposed to temperatures that would degrade heat-sensitive compounds.

At these low temperatures, cannabinoids remain in their original carboxylated form — THCA and CBDA rather than THC and CBD. This preserves the most complete molecular profile of the source material. Decarboxylation — the activation step that converts THCA to THC — can be performed separately and deliberately afterwards, giving the operator full control over the final product profile.

Temperature and pressure are monitored in real time via sensors mounted directly in the Distillation Chamber, ensuring consistent, safe operation at every stage.

OUTPUT MATERIAL

Full-spectrum, solvent-free extract — perfect for vaping, oils and edibles.

The extracts produced using Gandalf are full-spectrum quick-wash extracts.

By default, Gandalf delivers non-decarbed extracts, with the cannabinoids in their original form (CBDA, THCA, etc.) Optional decarboxylation is possible via a built-in decarb function.

Thanks to the low process temperatures, the terpene profile is largely identical to the profile of the input material.

In contrast to e.g. typical butane extractions, the vacuum distillation performed in Gandalf ensures that all solvent is removed from the final extract, leaving you with a very pure extract.
